About She
When she is not creating the best union of original poetry & art for your shopping pleasure, artiste Dorcas M Johnson can been seen on classic episodes of All My Children and Law & Order.
She has also been seen on the world's stages, including The Goodman Theatre in Chicago & Bobigny 93 in Paris (director Peter Sellars); The Market Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa (director Lara Foote Newton); and the 20th anniversary production of for colored girls... for which she won an AUDELCO (director/playwright Ntozake Shange).
And our Ms. Johnson has performed her own oneperson musical plays ugli wmn and must i forever stay a beggar? throughout the isle of Manhattan, including the Harlem Theatre Company, Dixon Place, Nuyorican Poets Cafe and PSNBC@H.E.R.E. (director Peter Flynn). But on her way to blessed stardom, her most able body began to be less able. So...after a tour of many of NYC’s finer hospitals, and a few years of recovery & wonderful medication later... that is, prayerful meditation later, during which she was divinely reminded that she knew how to draw, here she is:recharged & positively delighted to share the benefits of this journey with you, sweet shopper.
